The Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS) degrees at Chattanooga State require a student to complete at least 60 semester hours of coursework with 41 semester hours of general education courses in the areas of written and oral communication, humanities, math/science, social and behavioral sciences, history, and literature.  The additional 19 credit hours are taken in the student’s chosen area of emphasis.

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree requires a student to complete at least 60 semester hours of coursework.  A minimum of 15 semester hours must be general education courses, with the remaining hours being taken in the student’s chosen major.
