"The file is corrupt and cannot be opened."

If the user cannot open a Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint file and they see a message saying the file may be corrupt, that's an issue with the security features in Office 2013. It blocks files from other computers (such as those sent by email) unless that source is approved.

On our library computers, make sure the patron has downloaded the file to the computer before they try to open it. If is is a .zip file, make sure all files are extracted (click "Extract all files") on the computer before you try to open them.

On personal computers, ask the user to try this after they have downloaded the file:
     1) Find the file in the Download Folder.
     2) Right-click the file.
     3) Select Properties.
     4) Go to the bottom right of the dialog box and click Unblock.
     5) Click APPLY, then OK.
     6) Open file.
