Underneath "Step 1: Enter Your A Number" you should see the question "Forgot your A Number?". Click on the underlined blue link to the A Number Lookup Tool.
Enter full Social Security number and date of birth (m/d/yy).
Type the security words in the box at the bottom. (Can ask for different words by clicking the little circular arrows.)
Click Submit Form and it should show the A-number.
If it shows a blank form, they may have made a typo or the date of birth was entered in the wrong format (should be m/d/yy, not m/d/yyyy). Ask the student to try again very carefully.
If it still doesn't display the A-number, the person's Social Security number may be wrong in our system or they may not have an A-number in the system yet. Please submit a Tech Support Help Request.
